With the introduction of the Covid-19 epidemic into our lives in 2020, our needs in all areas of our lives have changed and many business sectors have tried to find a new way for adopting the new process in this direction. The automotive sector, which is one of the sectors most affected by this new process, has revived considerably with the increasing demand for second-hand cars. Social distance, which is one of the proceeds of the pandemic, has also been reflected in transportation, and people have turned to second-hand car preferences in order to travel more safely. This increasing demand has also found a positive response in terms of the savings of consumers until the pandemic.

To think of the used car industry separately from technical maintenance and inspection is almost impossible. The process of buying a used car is subject to a process that requires professional help, called "expertise", which is the master's analysis and evaluation of technological equipment and tools. In parallel with it, the expertise sector has also increased in direct proportion to the demand for used cars. Comprehensive reviews for used cars help to create standardization in the market. In addition to ensuring transparency, efficiency and high-quality vehicle evaluations, accurate and fast evaluations are also crucial for verifying and testing used cars. In that sense, D-Expert was established in 2013 to maintain this trust and transparency in the second-hand market with its expertise supported by the latest technologies. With international experience, TÜV SÜD D-Expert provides impartial, objective and professional used automobile appraisal services in Turkey. TÜV SÜD D-Expert Used Vehicle Appraisal Report is prepared in detail by experts to ensure the exact and correct conditions of the vehicle. With its impartial, independent and reliable information and consultancy services, TÜV SÜD D-Expert provides value to its customers, who aim to be a reliable source of information in the automobile industry, by combining traceable and sustainable quality knowledge with technology and innovation.

We utilized the latest technology

TÜV SÜD D-Expert's implementation is used by dealers and their customers across the country to schedule appointments and to send and view information such as appraisal reports. Recently, the development team started to convert the application to microservices and seek for a suitable environment in the cloud for further development. Already using a CI/CD environment from a third-party cloud provider, TÜV SÜD D-Expert was on a new quest to use it without switching.

Doğuş Technology worked on a Google Cloud architecture to meet the requirements as a technology partner of D-Expert. Scalability, performance and security were determined as the three key goals for the transformation process that is to be successful.

The first step of this project was the detailed identification of priority expectations. To cope with the increasing complexity, D-Expert wanted to implement a microservice-based architecture and Kubernetes as an orchestration solution to reduce operational time and keep pace with the company's growth. But, for this the automatically scalable environment was essential for production loads. Alongside microservice orchestration, the need for managed SQL service and reliable object storage for multi-format data was required. Accessing external resources such as Private DNS, APM, container registry, and MongoDB with security best practices was the most important milestone while providing a low-cost testing and development environment. Also, having at least two separate data centers for fault tolerance allowed different services to be run in production for protection purposes.

The Unique Architecture is created with the help of Google Cloud Transformation

During the first phase of the project was determined as scalability, performance and security. The joint plan began to be applied to the architecture. GKE clustering for microservices was implemented after approvals were obtained for use after the transformation of cloud technologies. Autoscaling provided with a regional GKE cluster. Custom GKE clusters are designed to provide a low-cost test and development environment. Shared VPC enabled D-Expert to connect resources from projects to a common VPC network, allowing users to securely and efficiently communicate between components of that network, such as subnets, cloud VPN, NAT firewalls, and more, using the network's internal IPs. To comply with the standard storage class, dual-region Cloud Storage was used for production and single-region Cloud Storage for test and development. Global L7 Load Balancing is customized according to D-Expert's WAF principles. Thus, best practices in security and compliance are secured with cloud functional governance.

TÜV SÜD D-Expert has partnered with the industry-proven expert Doğuş Technology, enhancing the development of competitive advantage while using its cloud capabilities. D-Expert leverages services managed through Google Cloud Platform with a cost-effective, scalable and secure design, while gaining transformative power for scalability, aggressive expansion across a range of branches and services. As a positive effect on cost management, D-Expert's Information Technologies team, using the cloud, can now take faster action in the case of facing potential problems.
